School Supply Classroom Stocking Program
Transparent Bulk Pricing - No Markups
Uniformity of Supplies Schoolwide
Zero-Waste
+ Structured to compensate for families unable to contribute.
+ Unused supplies carry forward to next school year.
+ All supplies approved by local recyclers as having an active recycling stream.
+ Prices go down as participation increases (bulk discounts)
How it Works (in brief)
+ Teachers determine supplies/quantities needed for students.
+ Per-Student price determined by dividing total cost of supplies by # of students.
* To adjust for families unable to contribute; total cost can be divided by a decreased percentage of families - spreading the cost, while allowing all students access to the same supplies.
+ Payment link is provided to share with families
* Payment collection window: Nov - Feb
* Families have the option to break their payment into 4 installments
+ Supplies ordered in March are delivered to schools May/June.
+ Optional: During the 4 month purchase window, families can sign up via the payment link to help distribute supplies to classrooms/homerooms before classes begin in the fall.
+ Supplies are distributed by teachers on an as-needed basis throughout the school year.
+ At the end of the year, all unused supplies carry forward to the following school year, and are factored into quantities needed for the next round.

Third party payment processor: Cheddar Up
At the end of the 4 month payment window, funds transfer directly from Cheddar Up to the school.
Schools issue two checks to _____
1 check for school supplies
1 check for our operations/overhead
All receipts will be posted to the site.
Full transparency at every step. -
A transparent per-student fee is charged to cover our labor and operating expenses.
There are no markups.
The bigger the bulk purchase, the greater the savings for families.
One classroom is good, a full grade is better, a whole school is great, and an entire school district is phenomenal.
Every increase in the number of students equals lower prices for families.
Any funds remaining in the school account after purchasing supplies for the year are used at the school’s discretion to cover any additional school supply needs.
We provide a form for the school to document their use of remaining funds to be made public to families every school year. -
Students are welcome to use their own supplies.
No student or family is forced to participate. -

Products that are authentically recyclable, repairable, or reusable can be submitted through our contact form.
We look for supplies best suited to student needs, while maintaining a no-landfill ethos.
Waste is a design flaw. -
A fantastic project.
At the end of the school year (particularly before starting this program) we recommend hosting a “locker clean out”.
During the last week of school, set out collection boxes for new/lightly used:
Pencil Sharpeners
Pencils
Pens
Rulers
Scissors
Post It Notes
Folders
Binder Paper
Notebooks
Markers
Items that spent the year in the backs of lockers and desks, bottoms of backpacks.
Often families are happy to “rehome” extras of these items they have taking up space at home - invite families to donate the spares they have.
